Fundraising at Work

The number of people with mental illness is increasing. According to the World Health Organisation, depression is the leading cause of disability in the world. This is why it is fundamental for all employers to look after the health and well-being of their employees.

AWARE welcome and support any organisation who would like to become our corporate partner. We are proud corporate partners with leading global law firm Baker and McKenzie as well as Aramark, Dixons Construction, Maxol, Financial Services Union amongst many other smaller companies. A corporate partnership with AWARE will mean your employees will receive mental health awareness training as well as materials on depression.

We don’t have to be our corporate partner to raise money for us. You can also raise money within your organisation by holding cake sales, sponsored car washes, your very own 5k walk or maybe even something totally different such as an overseas mountain trek!. All the money you raise will be used to provide education, training and support on the illness of depression across community and post-primary school settings in Northern Ireland. Download this leaflet to find out more about fundraising in your organisation.

Maxol - our charity partnership with Maxol has been very successful to date. We are proud to work with station owners throughout Northern Ireland encouraging them to fundraise for AWARE. Over Christmas 2016, Maxol stations across Northern Ireland sold candles with all proceeds coming to AWARE. Peter Robinson, licensee from Glenabbey Filling Station in Glengormley has thoroughly enjoyed raising money for AWARE since the beginning of the partnership, Check out his story below.

Staff fundraising

Fundraising for AWARE is a great way of motivating staff, encouraging creativity, improving communications and promoting team-building. It also helps to project a positive corporate image and demonstrates their commitment to tackling and supporting mental health in particular depression issues to staff, customers and business partners.

AWARE offer amazing fundraising events throughout the calendar year including Mood Walk, Slieve Donard Trek, New Years Splash, Brighten Up Blue Monday and other exciting events. That said, we know that one size doesn't fit all, therefore we can organise bespoke challenges for teams of staff. The event can be tailored to meet your requirements and offer support to staff with their fundraising.
