Fundraising in School
Schools Mood Walk for AWARE
Across Northern Ireland, schools are being invited to host their own Mood Walk in support of AWARE to help raise vital funds for adults and young people with depression and bipolar disorder in Northern Ireland. We are encouraging schools to host their very own Mood Walk and encourage sponsorship amongst the children participating. Each school that signs up will receive 2 Mood Walk tshirts for teachers and sponsorship forms.
Children's Mental Health Week runs from 5 - 11 February 2018 - the perfect opportunity to organise a Mood Walk!
Other ways to fundraise for AWARE in your school include:
- Arrange your own sponsored walk on Blue Monday, Halloween, Easter or Christmas.
- On World Mental Health Day, (10 October) have your own Mask Wearing Day to support those living with Depression– and together as a school ‘Lift the Mask on Depression!’ This can also be used as a great tool to discuss how pupils felt throughout the day wearing the mask and how it felt taking it off again.
- Take part in our Mood Matters for Young people programme - an award winning programme and an excellent way to better educate young people to the signs and symptoms of depression and what to do if you recognise these in yourself or someone you know.
- Take on a challenge – run, walk, jog or swim. Or for those creative artists out there, get painting or drawing in support of AWARE!
