On Friday 3rd November AWARE (the national depression charity for NI) and Royal Jubilee Maternity Services joined together to introduce the Mood Matters Parent and Baby Programme to maternity staff.

Staff were invited to attend an information session presented by Marina McCully the Education and Training Officer for Aware and Lisa Darrah Midwifery Co-Ordinator for Perinatal Mental Health and Social Complexity in Pregnancy. The excellent attendance demonstrates the commitment of maternity staff to improve the mental health of the women and families in their care.

The Mood Matters Parent and Baby Programme teaches parents skills and techniques to look  after their mental health, manage their feelings when they are stressed, anxious or depressed and can help parents cope with the challenges during and after pregnancy.

The first session for parents will be 21st November 2017 at 6pm in RJMS.  Parents can book their place by logging onto www.aware-ni.org or calling 028 9035 7820.
