To mark Mental Health Awareness Week on 14 – 20 May 2018, Progressive Building Society is donating £25,000 each to AWARE and CAUSE, two local mental health charities as part of its 2018 charitable giving.

The partnership with AWARE and CAUSE will allow for much needed resources to be attributed to the charities’ valuable work across Northern Ireland in the area of mental health.

Darina Armstrong, Chief Executive of Progressive Building Society, said: “Operating for over 100 years, Progressive is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate.  We have chosen to support these two charities so that they can continue to offer services that work to address the mental health problems of people living in Northern Ireland and support their carers. With two thirds of people experiencing a mental health issue in their lifetime, this is an area that affects almost every local family.  These donations are a further reflection of our commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of society.”

AWARE is delighted to receive this donation during mental health awareness week, to enable us to continue to provide support and education across Northern Ireland.
