Resilience and You Conference

SERC, in partnership with AWARE and the Royal College of Psychiatrists recently hosted a conference dedicated to building resilience in the workplace. The conference ‘Resilience and You’ aimed to raise awareness of the importance of developing and maintaining good mental health and of positive work environments.

Key note speakers included Tom McEneaney, Frank Liddy and Patrick Anderson from AWARE and Claire Potter from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

The day included workshops, speeches and presentations looking at promoting good mental health and wellbeing, resilience and mindfulness.

SERC Chief Human Resources Officer Paul Smyth said, “This one-day conference aimed to ensure that we, as an FE sector, share best practice and understand how to help our employees to manage the increasing pressures of the modern working environment. The conference is one of the most important elements to ensuring that staff across the sector take steps to a happier and healthier workplace.”

AWARE offer a range of wellbeing and mindfulness programmes including Mood Matters in the Workplace and Mindfulness for the Workplace.
