Children's Art Challenge

The emotional well-being of children is just as important as their physical health. Good mental health allows children and young people to develop the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well-rounded, healthy adults.

As we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week during May, AWARE would like to encourage children to get involved too by showing us how you (or they) are coping with the many changes that seemed to happen overnight due to COVID-19 and the need to stay home and stay safe.

We would love for children to give us a glimpse into their day to day lives showing us 'what matters most' to them. They could also show us what types of things are they doing and who are they doing it with.

What you’ll need:

  • A clear and safe space to work
  • Paper (white or coloured)
  • Pens, crayons, coloured pencils, or paints & brushes
  • Glitter, stickers, or other bits and pieces that can be stuck on
  • Glue

There are 4 simple steps to take part:

  • Get your art supplies ready and find a clear and safe place to work.
  • Draw what matters most to you.
  • Head to AWARE’s JustGiving Page to make a donation.
  • When your masterpiece is ready, you can share a photo on social media OR you can upload a video telling us about your drawing.

Please remember to use the hashtag #HomeAndAWARE and make sure to tag AWARE on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
