Join IK Butchers for their annual charity walk
Pop on your trainers, wake up the kids and bring the dog for a stroll on Sunday 29 April at 9.00am and support IK Butcher’s annual charity walk. Starting at Ardglass crossroads the 10 mile walk will do a loop returning to the Ardglass crossroads.
Ignatius Connor, charity walk organiser said, “IK Butchers have been organising this successful charity walk for a number of years and this year our chosen charity is AWARE. Kenneth and I invite everyone to join us for a bit of exercise, taking in some fresh country air which will help to clear your head. To register your interest call into our shop on St Patrick’s Avenue, Downpatrick or Ardglass to pick up a sponsorship form.”
Lesley Wright, Community and Events Fundraiser with AWARE said, “AWARE is the depression charity for Northern Ireland and have an established network of 23 support groups in rural and urban areas. Two of which are local to the community in Downpatrick and Newcastle. Support groups welcome people with depression and bipolar disorder as well as carers for people with the illness. One in 5 of us experience mental ill health so please come and support IK Butchers by taking part and raising some funds for AWARE. Every £100 raised will run one of our weekly support group meetings.”
