Maxol have launched their new initiative to help AWARE raise funds by asking motorists to donate 10p when stopping for fuel, or any other products, when in their stores nationwide. The scheme will run until the end of August and aims to increase awareness of positive mental well-being in local communities and help to provide support groups and education programmes across the country.

In addition to members of staff asking if you would like to donate 10p, Maxol will be also be helping out by donating £10,000 to AWARE. Brian Donaldson, chief executive officer at Maxol, said: “I want to thank all of our loyal customers for their continued support and encourage them to get behind this campaign. We’re extremely proud of our partnership with AWARE and the great work they do across the country to promote positive mental health.

Clare Galbraith, corporate fundraising officer, from AWARE said: “We’re so grateful to Maxol for providing us with fantastic fundraising opportunities and helping to raise the profile of what we do. Ten pence mightn’t seem like a large sum of money, but the collective effort really can make a massive impact. At present in Northern Ireland we are currently funded to deliver our mental health programmes into 55% of schools, but we need to do more and that is why this partnership with Maxol is so vital for our work.”

Maxol has been a proud partner of AWARE since June 2016. The charity, which has been operating for over 20 years, has a network of 25 support groups across the country and delivers mental health and well-being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities and workplaces.
