Does AWARE receive all the proceeds? There are a couple of very small admin fees which we must pay to bandcamp, but after that, AWARE will receive all proceeds from this song. The artist does not benefit from any sales of this song. The proceeds of the song will be put directly back into the services offered by AWARE including educating and supporting people throughout Northern Ireland on the importance of looking after our mental health and the signs and symptoms of illnesses like depression.

Why did Kaz write this song for AWARE? Kaz has been very public about her struggle with depression and her fight to overcome the trauma of the past. It is her hope that the song will give people hope not to take drastic action in dark days. She hopes her survival through the horrific experiences she suffered throughout her life will connect with listeners. In Kaz Hawkins’ continuous campaign to use her music to increase awareness around depression, this single will be the first release from her new album Don’t You Know. The single will only be available direct from AWARE until her album is officially released at Belfast Cathedral on 22nd July where Kaz will also be donating a percentage of album sales on the night to AWARE.
