FREE Mental Health Courses – December 2025 & January 2026
Thinking about learning more about mental health and how you can best support your wellbeing? AWARE NI is running a number of FREE mental health education courses this December 2025 and January 2026.
Whether you're someone looking to learn more about mental health, or a parent or teacher seeking to incorporate mindfulness into your home/classroom, there's a course for you.

Courses for Parents & Caregivers
Mental Health Course for Parents (Free – Online 💻)
For expectant parents and parents of children aged three and under. Learn how to support your own wellbeing, look after your baby’s mental health, and find help when you need it.
Dates: 15th Dec 2025 (Monday) or 29th Jan 2026 (Thursday)
Time: 7pm – 9pm

Mindful Parenting Course (Free – Online 💻)
A six-week course for parents and guardians of children and teens. Learn practical mindfulness techniques to help you manage stress, build emotional resilience, and nurture a calmer home environment.

Courses for Teachers & Classroom Assistants
Mindfulness Course for Teachers & Classroom Assistants (Free - Online 💻)
A six-week course for teachers and classroom assistants. This course will introduce you to the meaning of mindfulness, how it can support you in everyday life and how you can use it in your role as a teacher or classroom assistant.

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Primary Teachers & Classroom Assistants (Free - Online 💻)
A eight-week course, including a a one-day mindfulness retreat, for primary teachers and classroom assistants. A comprehensive introduction to Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) designed to help you develop a steady, supportive, and nourishing meditation practice to use in your personal life and within the classroom.
Dates: 14th Jan – 4th Mar 2026 (Wednesdays), 4:30pm - 6:30pm and Sunday 22nd Feb 10:30am - 3pm for retreat

A Course to Help Challenge Negative Thinking (Free – Face to Face 📍)
A course for anyone struggling with low mood, anxiety, or depression. Learn how to understand your emotions, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and build confidence.

Introductory Mental Health Course (Free – Face to Face 📍)
A practical workshop for anyone who wants to learn more about mental health. Gain tools to reduce stress, recognise signs of mental ill-health, and find support.

Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid is designed to equip people with the skills and knowledge they need to help someone with a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. This is a certified course accredited by the Public Health Agency.
